Your Art, Your Investment

Let's face it, the attention is awesome, the glory is flattering, and the likes and shares just make your world go round! But the best part of all of this? The one golden carrot dangling in front of every artist who can manage to achieve some sort of marginally widespread success? You guessed it.

The money.

It's fun to get paid for your art, whether it be your music or your podcast. Unfortunately a lot of artists fall into the splurge trap. Make the money, spend the money. Now, what else is money for, if not to be spent? The key is to spend wisely by treating your art, your brand, like an investment.

Here are some tips to maximize that sweet revenue.

1. Marketing

This is perhaps the most important part of any real artist's budget. This should be the biggest piece of your budget pie. This is what keeps the fans fed. Marketing gets and keeps your momentum. Don't be afraid to spend those dollars on ads, photoshoots, video shoots, and other types of promotional campaigns that'll gain and expand your audience.

2. Branding

Honestly this is just another type of marketing. You want to establish your stamp, your unique imprint on your industry. What makes you stand out? What looks and sounds like you and only you? Your brand is more than a logo. It's the values and the principals you stand on as an artist and as your own business, because that's what you are, a business.

3. Upgrades

Who doesn't love new gear?! New microphones, no headphones, in-ear monitors, DAW plugins, hardware...all of these things go a long way in producing an increased level of quality that you can build upon. Our handy tip (and this is free): maximize what you have before you upgrade. Understand what you need before you go buying things you just want.

Here at EmMeka Music, we can offer you quality enhancement to your sound to increase the traffic to your channels. This will help your branding and give me more marketing material. So why wait? Invest in your brand and reap the benefits of your investment.
